On my way back to Texas

I will not miss the 12-hour days, nor the 4-bus, 3-4 hour long commutes (that's round trip, not one way). I will not miss other things not worth writing about here.

I look forward to being in my own home again, to friends and family, to Austin and roadrunners and turkeys and longhorns and white-tail deer. I look forward to people who understand chili.

I will miss working with my friends in Hyderabad and Seattle, fresh seafood, talking to bus drivers and passengers, the Steller's Jays, the crows, the band-tailed pigeons, the Douglas squirrels, the weather, the green, the smell of the sea, the harbor seals, the Canada geese, the chipmunks. I will miss the friends I made here. I will miss this:

Mount Rainier past Lake Washington

I know you've been wanting to come home--I'm glad it's happening. And I'm glad that there are some good memories and some things to miss about Seattle, too.

Definitely Seattle is a lovely place. I'm glad I've been able to enjoy this place, even though not-so-great things happened here. Beautiful things happened, too :-)

Hey - good to hear from you. I've missed you on this forum. Glad you get to come home to a hopefully easier life.

Missed you, too. I hope it's easier - I was part of a layoff, hence the return. But I have job irons in the fire, and am hopeful :-)

Once you're settled, I've got to come down on a weekend to see you. I have missed you so terribly, Alex. I'm sorry that you're leaving a place you truly love.

I've missed you quite a bit, too! Cross your fingers - I may be working in Dallas if a desired job opportunity works out (with a former employer, yet!).

Don't worry about me - I truly love the critters and the Mountain, and there are good friends - but there are memories I will be happy to leave here. And I truly love Texas, too :-)
