Last of the Seattle photos

I've been putting them off with a million reasons: getting a new job, still unpacking, visiting my mother (whom I only saw once the past three years), etc. But now I have a great job, and the unpacking has slowed a little since the house is now habitable.

Highlights:
Robin Redbreast

Crows through back door

Maple seed close-up

Rose

Rhodedendron in rain

Spotted towhee takes flight

Love the robin flying, and the tripod maple seed. (I gave my husband one of those when I was pregnant the first time, as a way of telling him.)

What a lovely way to share the news :-) I brought two small maple seedlings cross-country with me who had had the misfortune to sprout in the wrong part of the garden. Also a staghorn sumac baby. Crossing my fingers I can make Texas hospitable to them!

The bird is actually a Spotted Towhee; there's another photo here of him, right before he took flight. You may tell them by the white belly; the red is only on the sides.

I see now! Yes, similar, but different. Pretty bird.
